Tale of the Tour Chair Part 10

The artist toiled a bit more each day, bringing to life the trees and branches.  The work was difficult as the poor chair had been wedged between the easel, the kitchen table and the counter.

Finally the artist said, "Enough!  I cannot complete the Chair here for I cannot reach its parts properly to work upon them.  I must have more space."

With that, she put down her brushes and once more the Chair was hauled out and into the sunshine on the deck. With the twittering of birds in the trees overhead and the warm caress of the sun upon her shoulders, she could move much more easily around the Chair and was soon able to place the final reflections in the water and bits of sunlight upon the branches.

Sitting back, the artist smiled.  "It is done."

With that said, she went in search of her favourite quill with which to scribe her name upon her labours and the title upon the Chair.

It felt so good to be done and as she examined her work she felt the spell of the magic embrace her.  Stepping back, she allowed the great warmth of the sun to caress the chair. It was as if the sun was giving the Chair its benediction.

As the sun warmed the Chair she began to stroke the crystal coat upon it that it might be well protected from all the forces that would seek to destroy it.  Letting the crystal cure overnight, she once more stroked the Chair with a final satin patina.

It was done.  It was truly done.  Soon the Chair would travel to far off lands to share its countenance with others.  As she thought of the coming parting, the artist felt a darkening of sadness slide over her spirit.  For with the Chair's departure would go small pieces of her own soul which she had wound amongst the rocks, waters, and trees of this wondrous Chair. It would remain forever a part of her as she would remain a part of The Chair.

Now, she would await instructions from the Gods.  Soon the next part of the Chair's Journey would begin.
