The little female woodpecker has remained in the vicinity for a couple of weeks. I wonder where her mate went. He was here earlier. Maybe he had the sense to head south and avoid the snow.
The few juncos remaining need to scurry south. How I will miss their cheery presence until spring. It has been magical to still hear birdsong in December!
