Tale of the Tour Chair Part 3

So the painting of the chair continued atop the dining room table.  With all the pieces to paint and coats to apply, meal times soon became a challenge as each piece must be allowed to dry completely before it could be turned and painted on the other side.

"Whatever you do, don't get syrup on that fresh paint!" cried the artist.

A number of days went by and finally all the pieces were painted, sanded, and painted once more. The family was grateful. Finally the plastic and paint could be removed.  It had been a long few days and residents were tired of moving chair pieces to dine.

It was time to start putting some of those many snippets of wood together into the segments that could become this new and strange 'canvas'.

Precision in workmanship and patience with small things like spaces and screws were needed so the artist called out for the great Swiss craftsman of the land to come and perform his magic.  Seemingly honoured at the request (or perhaps it was the blatant flattery), he agreed to commence the delicate work and set about assembling his tools.

With great assiduity he measured and remeasured.  Then he marked and checked again before lifting his drill to the wood.  Slowly and steadily he drilled each hole then carefully afixed each piece to its mounting.

At last, the back of the great chair was assembled.

(to be continued)
