This painting was done as a commission and what a treat it was to paint. It's of a tiny alpine lake high up the Frances Creek drainage basin. The colours are incredible and I found it easily on Google Earth as it is so distinctive. I'd love to hike into this little gem but there's not really a trail although the people who made their way in to it tried to create one. I've asked a few of the local woodsmen and hikers about it and only one had seen it but from the ridge above. This painting represents another of those special places that we can all 'visit' now that I've captured it on canvas. Enjoy!
[Note: the name "Buster Lake" is one the people who hiked in to it gave the lake and as such is not recorded on any maps.]
